A Trichologist is someone who has studied the hair science of Trichology; and therefore is able to diagnose and treat those who are suffering from hair and scalp issues.

In order to study Trichology a person must first be accredited as either a Dermatologist or a Cosmotologist. Then they can pursue further study into the Science of Trichology. Therefore, Trichologist from the Dermatology side are doctors and the those from the Cosmotology side are not.
